Why Locals Love Paul's Burgers and Fries

Located in the heart of downtown Mobile, Paul's Burgers and Fries is a must-visit culinary gem for burger enthusiasts and anyone craving a truly satisfying American classic. This cozy restaurant specializes in handcrafted burgers paired with perfectly seasoned, fresh-cut fries that have quickly earned a loyal following. At Paul's, every bite is an experience — from the first savory aroma of a sizzling patty to the satisfying crisp of their golden fries.

The menu offers a standout selection that caters to a variety of tastes, including the innovative Spicy Goat Burger and the flavorful Black Garlic Burger, both praised for their freshness and impeccable seasoning. For those who enjoy a balance of textures and bold flavors, the Goat Cheese Burger with added jalapeños is a revelation, delivering a harmonious punch that many customers, including enthusiast Ein Cliburn, describe as a life-changing taste. Meanwhile, the Pig Wing Combo — featuring two succulent pig wings, fries, slaw, and a refreshing drink — is a hearty option that brings a southern twist to this burger haven.

Salads at Paul's Burgers and Fries also deserve a nod, blending crisp iceberg lettuce, shredded cabbage, juicy tomatoes, and cheddar cheese, brought to life in options like the Grilled Chicken Salad or the irresistible Fried Chicken Salad. Each salad is thoughtfully prepared with your choice of dressing, providing a fresh and wholesome alternative for those seeking lighter fare without skimping on flavor.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Paul's is warm and inviting, with a casual vibe that perfectly suits a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner. While parking in the downtown area may present a small challenge, loyal customer Valeria Heath insists that the quality and price of the food more than make up for it. The limited seating encourages an early visit or a late one to savor your meal comfortably. Service staff, like Pjohn mentioned by regular William Ishee, add to the welcoming feel, ensuring each visit is not just a meal, but a memorable experience.

Paul's commitment to quality is evident, from their homemade sweet tea with just the right amount of sweetness to the freshly made condiments—ketchup, mustard, and mayo—all complimentary and thoughtfully portioned to complement every bite. For those wanting to take a piece of the experience home, the restaurant also offers branded merchandise including t-shirts, hats, and koozies, perfect for fans who want to show their love outside the restaurant.

Whether you’re a downtown Mobile local or just passing through, Paul's Burgers and Fries promises more than just a meal. It delivers a genuine taste of Southern hospitality and craftsmanship that leaves a lasting impression. So, do yourself a favor: arrive early, savor every bite, and prepare to become a regular at one of Mobile’s most beloved burger spots.

The burgers are amazing and the fries are a definite favorite. Parking was a hassle but definitely worth the food. Great prices that either match or beat fast food. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

Outstanding!!! If you're looking for a good, homemade burger, this is your place. Everyone I talked to was great! Get there before they run out of burgers!! They only make so many each day. Edit: 2/6/26 I don't get here weekly, like I should. It's just a good burger. But like really good. Do yourself a favor and go!!! Fries are fresh cut and made to order. Pjohn knows what's up! If you only accept one recommendation in your life, let it be this one. This is real food done really well.

Spicy goat burger was very fresh and flavorful. The single is kinda a tease, highly recommend going double as they're smashed pretty thin and the burger with toppings would have balanced out more with two patties. Fries were hot and fresh and did not taste overly oily. Sweet tea is homemade and just the right sweetness. Limited seating so get there early or late for dine in. Will be back.

I had the Goat cheese burger with added Jalepenos, and let me be totally honest when I say that the burger changed my life. You can genuinely taste the freshness in the ingredients and the seasoning of the patty is perfect. I would HIGHLY recommend this burger spot if you work in the downtown area especially. Ordering online as a guest with Toasty was seamless and I was able to tip which was nice, I will definitely be making this Paul's one of my usual lunch spots.

Absolutely amazing food. 10/10 parking is scare because it’s downtown and it is small inside but a few tables to sit. Cook said burgers are smoked and that bag of fries was on point! Worth the stop!
